just came up with a thought. with all this harry potter hype refreshed and reloaded, with 8 books selling per second on saturday, and bla bla bla, i've been thinking, is J.K Rowling that big a phonomena? or did she just happen to be at the right place at the right era? fine, they hype that she's richer than the queen, she's ranked 122 on the Britian rich list, while the Queen is ranked 133. big deal. there's 132 people richer than the Queen in Britian. why make such a fuss over Rowling? just imagine, if Tolkien was around now instead of the 40's, u'd imagine what would happen. i mean, imagine if Lord of The Rings was released now instead of those 70 years back. no.....that wouldnt work. this is better, imagine that the same living conditions, technology, and economy existed during that time. who'd be a bigger success, Tolkien or Rowling? heck, i doubt Rowling would even be able to come up with Harry Potter and their magical friends...goblins, and stuff, without the initial ideas planted and sowed by Tolkien. u know u're a big thing, when there's many books of your pencil notes published after u passed from the world, and u actually create a world which people tell stories on, make games based on that, from card games to computer games, and there's even a Tolkien Society recognized worldwide. now thats big.
Hail Tolkien

one of the joys of this world, would be having a kind and generous friend. in particular, one who has an allergical reaction to alcohol, and cannot drink, but is willing to buy all of us shots of tequila. i mean, how many people in the world is willing to spend money on others in such a way? the world should have more of this generous type, and less of stingy bastards like me. fine, given that he is back from aussie, and the gathering was kinda for him. and given its been awhile since we've seen him, and he's leaving in a week. and my favourite thing, is what he said
"Nowadays, when i am back in malaysia, i still look at everything in aussie dollars. and when it comes to aussie dollars, this is cheap"
isnt he nice?
alright, next item of note. this adds another accomplisment to my freeloading list. so far, i've freeloaded from all the nightspots in :-

screamyx is every so conviniently down again, so i am stuck with a dailup connection. no offence to those true breed 56k'ers, but after being on DSL for so long, going back to 56k is like.....argh~!
anywayz, its been a boring week with almost nothing fun, save a few misadventures that i am keeping to myself. so i dont think i got much to say. bla. still stuck on nemo fever tho....2 times watched, and counting. probably gonna go for a third, if i can find my victim. or maybe not, i'm broke...very broke. come to think of it, i think i'm spending money at summit more to see
her than rock-climbing itself.
i'm a sick sick man

back, and reincarnated. oh yes, thats me. holidays are on now, and i got myself a one week job, with bloody overtime, hence the lack of posts. i just somehow notice one thing, i seem to be getting more hits when this site is inactive. and whats even more confusing, hits from china, australia, japan and canada. i wonder why? hmmm...i'm getting famous =)
which brings me back to something i've been pondering over for awhile. im' gonna start blaberring abit now, so those who cannot stand long posts, press alt-f4 now. ok, here i go.
i've been visiting quite a few other blogs as of late, and i've noticed many different styles of writing. which brings me to the question at hand :
what is a blog?. is it :
a) an online journal/diary, a modern version of that binded paper with ink writing, detailing your innermost feeling and and your deepest darkest secrets.
b) a place to voice out your opinions. say how much u hate this world, or how u despise arsenal, or just bitch about life.
c) a site to tell the world what you did for the day. tell everyone what was for lunch, what u dug from your nose today, and which chiq u saw and dreamed about.
d) a place where u can get philosophical about life. questions include : what is the meaning of life, why am i born to this world, and what is the matrix.
e) a political/electronic activism site. mainly used by journalist and political members, just posting what they feel about recent world issues.
alrights, lets look and see. alright, not all blogs are specific to these, some are totally different, and deserve the odd-one-out award. some are hybrids, so called combination of two or more of those types. and some are plain lame. lets go thru them one by one, ya =)
a) this one is plain stupid. i really cannot understand someone who has this type of blog. especially those who has this blog type, and complains and bitches when people who they don't like reads it. if its online, its meant to be read. theres little privacy online, so dont complain when u spot your enemies reading your blog. only two types of people i know blog this. 1. the one with no life, and feels a sense of belonging when everyone knows whats going on with him, and knows everything about him. 2. the one who believes in online privacy, and pours their feelings and stuff, only to have someone stumble across it, laughes about at it, and tells the world about it afterwards. this blog is basicly a combination b, c, & d, with an extra touch of personalization.
b) this one would be one of the more common ones about. quite fun to read, i must add. its interesting to see what others feel about different things, issues and sorts.
c) this one is also somewhat quite common, but well, boring most of the time. normally used by people with little self-confidence or low self-esteem, and they use this blog to tell the world which chiq they went out with, or which happening event they went to, or which movie premier they watched. and sometimes, even worse (i do this sometimes), it detailed the music they are currently hearing, all the way to what colour underwear they are wearing.
d) this one, is fun, but can give u a good headache after reading it. better blogs of this type, actually makes u ponder over what they were talking about. why am i in this world. which came first, chicken or egg. is there extra-terrestrial life. what is the matrix. among the types of blogs, this one is the most fun read at times, and the most boring at others. it does help answer some stupid questions that exist only in the back of your head, tho.
e) i dont really check out much of this. i'm far too young to bother in politics and stuff. but its kinda interesting to read those war blogs by journalist in iraq, or even better, two sets of blogs support/opposing a single issue. its a nice change to see two sides of the story.
myself? i can't really rate my own blog, but i think my blog should be a combination of
b &
c, with a pinch of
d. maybe a little
a at times, who knows =) anyway, i've been bitching too long about this, occupied enough of my time. got better things to do. cya =)
long long long. damn, this is LONG
